Interesting thought. I will look into it for several reasons.

It reminds me of a story by Mark Twain. Can't find the link, but the Steam boat captains used to treat the farmers (who wanted their crops shipped to market) like scum until the Railroads were developed. Then, with the shoe on the other foot, the farmers treated the steam boat captains like dirt as they had several methods of shipping thier crops to market.

For a long time us ex silicon chip engineers used to treat anyone in the assembly business as low tech scum (not me of course -g-). Most of the silicon chips are now made in Asia, but the PCB assembly business here is still strong. I tried to get into it several times as an engineer, but us ex silicon chip guys are a dime a dozen... However, I have been working as a J6P now for several years, and have an impressive J6P resume. Maybe I can infiltrate the PCB assembly business as a production worker -g-
