“……anyone have an idea how best to buy them?” By the truck load on ASX – if you can find enough to satisfy your appetite (ASX:RDF) ............................................................ 8 May 2005 RED FLEX CAMERAS REDFLEX CAMERAS TO BE INSTALLED AT VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS The City of Gardena will join the growing trend in the United States of using the red-light cameras to target red-light runners. The official kick off was held on November 22, 2004, with the contracted provider, Red-Flex. Traditionally the first camera system would be in place within 120 days following the kick off meeting. The automated red light enforcement using cameras has proven to be effective in reducing the incidence of red light running and the number of red light running accidents. Our neighboring cities of Hawthorne, Inglewood, Compton and Culver City currently have the red-light camera system in place. The City is currently working with Red-Flex to identify City intersections that have the most red light violations. Ten camera intersections are planned. Each of the camera systems will cover one traffic approach. In an effort to educate the public and reduce the incidences of red light violations, there will be a brief notification period when the cameras are first installed. During the 30-day notification period, violators will receive only a warning if they run a red light and be advised that the cameras are activated and that further violations will result in penalties.
