What kind of resolution is possible? Except to realize that things are always more complicated than they seem. I think the strength of the movie is that it does not take the easy way out, nor does it suggest there are easy answers, or any "complete" villains. I found it to be a very uplifting movie in many ways- it reminded me of Grand Canyon, 2 Days in the Valley, Night on Earth, and Beautiful People.
