Ameritrade - seems popular - unlimited # of shares. 10.99 per. One thing I don't like is that thinly traded stocks can sometimes give you a tiny fill with the same commission. Datek, their predecessor, used to charge a proportional commission.

Some places charge more for stocks under e.g., $2. Some have limits on number of shares per trade before an extra charge kicks in.

I find Ameritrade pretty decent in execution and service for the relatively cheap price.

The SI and IHub people are starting a brokerage soon that might be interesting because they are taking "requests" from us members.
