well, I still think this is an adjustment better left for people worried about "total returns" or something.

first of all, if you are trying to study (historically) a specific stock's trading pattern on ex dividend day, your charts give a totally misleading appearance, and if you are actually trying to trade on ex div day, the adjustment, which seems to come about noon, totally warps and destroys the chart pattern

at the least, adjustment should be an option, not a fixed thing. I put it in the same category as the days when you used to force an s&p500 chart to be included in the pref charts
