New twist on the "US and its attitude towards weight" subject: I just realized the other day, while ordering something online, that I am now XS according to certain major US retailers. Which is kind of funny because I didn't lose any weight since I was S in the US, about two years ago. Then again, I had also dropped from M to S similarly, without any weight loss on my part, but hey... If US retailers want to adjust their size norms according to the growing volumes of the population, what can you do?
They haven't heard of facelifts and tummy tucks in Europe?
Of course "they" have. I was talking about my personal preferences, as indicated by the use of "I" in the sentence "...the natural aging process, which I don't intend to tamper with."
BTW, did you know that between 1950 and 2000, the US had 56 Nobel Prize winners in Physics and France had only 2?
I am sure there is a reason why you think Nobel Prize in Physics is very relevant to the subject of attitudes towards physical beauty/fat in US vs France, but I just can't see it :-)
Anyway, to answer your question, no, I hadn't heard that before. I did hear several others that try to argue racial superiority over other groups by pointing at number of awards won at this or that. |
