Actually it is not creationism per se, but intelligent design. And what is the point of debating it? It is something that is inherently unprovable. If true, it also has no predictive value and hence is totally useless as a scientific principle. Debating it gives it the air of legitimate science, which it isn't. The decision is going to be made on the basis of politics and not have anything to do with scientific principles.

I have a soft spot in my heart for intelligent design, always have. But it is an article of faith, it has nothing to do with science.
