Hagel is a carpetbagger from Virginia who investigated his chance of buying a Senate seat. Then he relocated to a less populous state where he barely came from behind to beat a Democrat (Ben Nelson - who won a seat two years later) in a state that voted 2/3 for President Bush in 2004. He wants to run for President in 2008. He is posturing to be the latest RINO competing for the adoration fo the liberal press. He has a very low level of credibility. The issue is not giving up the filibuster. The issue is the unprecedented abridging of Constitutional Advise and Consent duties. History will cast a very lowly view on current Senate Democrats.
