Stocks were under pressure Tuesday as rumors of pain created by last week's automaker downgrades took their toll on a nervous market.

The main drag on the market was an unsubstantiated rumor that hedge funds were caught looking the wrong way on Standard & Poor's downgrade of General Motors (GM:NYSE - commentary - research). <<

Rattled??? ROFL Market off 1/2 percent....
