Howard Dean Gets in Touch With His Inner Karl Marx

PoliPundit.com

Courtesy of the Hedgehog Report and one of our very own thread barons, SI Conservative, Howard Dean has gone ahead and openly endorsed socialist, Bernie Sanders, for that United States Senate seat, in Vermont.

Hmm, it appears to me that the “Party of the People” might be coming full circle.

After all, it was not that long ago they had no qualms about running on their actual beliefs. They openly ran on an anti-war and fiscal liberalism platform (McGovern), on raising taxes on “the rich” to lower the budget deficit (Mondale), and of being against the death penalty, in favor of additional, government-run entitlements, and also of being “card-carrying” members of the ACLU (Dukakis).

It’s just that they had this tendency to thereby lose national elections by, uh, well, you know, 40-plus state landslides.

Then Clinton came along and demonstrated a raTHer-devious electoral methodology: getting elected by lying about one’s political views
. Alas, Clinton then made the mistake of outing himself, so to speak, to the public. And the rest, as they say, is political history.

Last year, the Democrats tried the Clinton/1992 method once again. Unfortunately, for them, that corpse they nominated wasn’t fit to carry Clinton’s Whitewater.

But now Dr. Kervorkian, er, Dr. Dean, by endorsing a socialist politician on behalf of his erstwhile political organization, could be heading back towards issue-based transparency for the “Party of Unity.”

That would be great news.

Awesome news.

For Republicans.
