The problem with feeding kids whatever they want is that even if you did provide a lot more exercise than kids typically get these days, you are teaching them really bad eating habits. Eating habits are learned in childhood. So when those kids get older they will feel more like sitting on the couch hanging out, but they will still be eating garbage food that will just make them very fat and very unhealthy.
