I have long hypothesized that our generation's Depression would be triggered by a speculative collapse in the up-and-coming China. Rapid growth and inexperience are prime catalysts for trouble in a young capitalist power.

This would mirror the Great Depression, which was triggered by the bursting of the US bubble formed as the world struggled with imbalances formed by the transition from European to American leadership.
