"Tens of thousands of people die every day from natural causes"

Spontaneous abortions are not "people" dying of natural causes. If your God exists, then He intended those deaths from the creation. It is all quite silly, isn't it? "I can't believe my children turned out so bad. Wasn't I always a good dad? Now I must murder them all with a big flood. And I will go to a great deal of trouble to insert tiny little souls into tiny little eggs trillions and trillions of times only to be disappointed when My efforts fail."

"Surely a distinction without a difference and another stupid statement"

You are simply confirming the crudity of your tongue and the density of your thought. At the risk of simplifying it too greatly for you: I do not advocate smoking or heroin or suicide--but I support the RIGHT to do any and all of these things. I don't think abortion is the best form of birth control. It often causes a great deal of trauma to the mother, for one thing. For these and other reasons I find abortion a regrettable method of birth control. But I honor the right of women to control their own bodies.

You may have difficulty understanding the distinction between the desireability of a thing and the RIGHT to do it; but that is simply a failure of comprehension. The "stupid statements" are your own and they remain your burden to bear.
