I think you would "whine" as well if people were SELECTED to represent you, having no accountability to you or any other person they were charged with representing.

There are 98 senators that I don't elect and they don't even pretend to represent me. Nor are they accountable to me, or the people in my State. In the Senate, I have only a 2% representation. I haven't calculated the representation I have for the House, it's probably in that ballpark.

Btw, I don't see much information mentioned in your post related to "self-criticism" being a founding intellectual thought in the spurring of the American Revolution.

As the American colonies were part of the British Empire, it can be nothing else other than self-criticism. They were not criticising a foreign power.

Which part of the Quebec Act do you see as intolerable?
