There is the funniest article in the Fall, 1997 issue of VERGE magazine on Tomagotchis.

He writes, for example, "Maybe it was my imagination, but my Tomagotchi seemed unnecessarily needy and manipulative."

He writes that he found out that high school boys are torturing their Tamagotchis by turning on the light when the Tam is asleep or pushing the discipline button when the creature isn't doing anything wrong. Apparently the hackers are trying to alter the Tam's evolution. He says that virtual cemeteries have sprung up on the Web where you can register your dead Tam and put up a little headstone.

It seems that they are great opportunities for hackers and that there is a whole virtual pet movement underway.

Considering Bandai already has the best selling toy in the whole world and this is still spreading and developing into new ventures, this should already be one of my best performing investments. It is the one that is turning out to be the most fun instead. It is almost like I found and researched it early enough to profit on the phenomena but I accidentally bought the wrong stock.

It is BNDCY that is supposed to be the stock play in all this, isn't it?
