I don't think the thesis ontradicts itself. I don't think the Muslim police will have any problem killing as many terrorists as they can get their hands on. In the prior tyranny of Iraq, the Baath party ruled with an iron grip. The new military or police force in Iraq will have to clamp down on any terrorists that will openly kill anybody in their way.

This is not like the PLO where a Palestian walks into a Jewish cafe and kills 5 or 10 Israelis. For the most part, the Muslims in Iraq are killing other Muslims. There are no crowd cheering the death of the security officers that are trying to establish order back in the country.

The security community must butcher the insurgents all the way to the Syrian border. I would fully support the decision if the US followed the insurgents into Syria. The training camps for al quaeda seem to be rooted behind the lines in Iran and Syria. Strategic bombings of these camps may become necessary as the clean up phase of this war needs to cross a few more borders.
