The amount accumulated would be about $265k. Now if you treat that as a funded annuity which makes payments to its beneficiary, the funder, those payments would be $18,800 per year assuming 5% interest. Considerably more than a person topping out at $31k/year could expect from SS.

You've been robbed by your own gov't and you applaud them for it.
