My boys made wifie stop for a turtle on the side of the road.

They picked it up and put it in the back of the car.

They did a little research on the net and discovered it is a
snapping turtle. (I told them they could have saved a lot of
time researching it had they just put their nose close up to
it...)

They had it in a plastic bin with some water in it.
Named him Turk.

When I got home we talked about it and decided that we would
bring over to Sprout Creek which runs next to the baseball
field where our game was tonight.

All of the siblings of our players walked with my older son
to the creek in the right field and released Turk.

While they were there they discovered a duck nest with two
eggs in it. They excitedly described it as a grassy nest
with some furry stuff and feathers that partially hid the
eggs. They were big like chicken eggs but sort of spotty.

Anyhow, I figured I'd start you off with our little brush
with nature so you could return the volley.

Do you think a creek is a good place for a snapping turtle or
are they better off in a pond?
