1. The FBI field agents had information that may have mitigated of stopped 911. It was ignored.

2. The patdowns are ridiculous, intrusive and sometimes quite perverted. Apparently, they're also ineffective.

3. You want people checked in order to prevent another 911. What about Oklahoma City? What about the Anthrax murderer? Do we check every young, disaffected white guy? Do we check everyone in the US of A because we have no idea who the Anthrax terrorist is?

Again, it's stupid and inefficient to check everyone because they are Muslim or resemble a Muslim. It's much better to know what the blooming heck you're looking for. It's also much better to have hardened cockpit doors even if it is after the fact.

4. This is the kind of ill advised fear-mongering that causes us to spend billions IN THE WRONG PLACE. We should be spending money on intelligence because, frankly, terrorists are pretty dang public.

They're out to make a public statement so it's not as if they're expecting to get away with anything. The White Supremacist Groups, the whacked out Montana militia, the extremist fundamentalists of all religions...they wear their politics on their sleeves.

It's like the flight school who actually thought it was odd that someone wanted to fly but not land or takeoff in an airplane. There's a trail, it's not just a random act.
