I think this whole options fight is an egotrip. Cisco should just start giving away restricted stock that vests. For goodness sake, that provides the same incentive or even more because it's real money. This whole options game Cisco is playing is just an egotrip of the executives in that they just can't stand to lose. Although I like that they have this never lose attitude, which is what makes Cisco great, they should stop spending so much money on trying to get away with something on options and switch to other means of vesting compensation that accomplishes the same goal of providing incentives for employees.
