Some members of political parties (both in power, and out of power) will ALWAYS be demagoging or engaging in FUD....
It goes with Democracy... has been with us since the beginning, so I see no prospect of it ending anytime soon.
If you are counting on perfecting human nature, I'm afraid you'll be waiting many, many centuries for modest improvement.
Of course, it's not necessary that you have a perfect collection of always noble leaders (a la the Knights of the Round Table... who, even in mythology, weren't all that perfect themselves).
Like I was pointing out: don't underestimate the American public.
They can cut through a LOT of FUD, and see through to the heart of the matter.
They deserve to be trusted with the plain truth... not 'spin', FUD, or deliberate deception and shell games. |
