Dale, I think Ameritrade management is plenty smart and that they are intent on growing the business. They execute well and provide good service and would, I think, rather be the acquirer rather than the acquiree. They have successfully integrated Datek and are likely in negotiations elsewhere. E-trade's offer looks like an attempt at a preemtive strike to me. I don't own either but do use AMTD as my broker. ken
