I really couldn't care less if the kid cries or not. I just want to make damn sure s'he (damn pronouns) knows s'he can't spell worth a crap. And "awk" in the margin could mean syntax, usage, or anything else.

And personally, if I were a teacher, I sure would mark down for misspelled words.

Especially there, their, and they're.
