Then there are the cougars (no offence intended to coug who posts here)

Several years back, animal rights activists in my state pushed through a citizen's initiative that made it illegal to use dogs to hunt cougar (apparently using dogs is the only effective way to do so). We now have a cougar population explosion, and cats and small dogs are going missing from back yards. Schools go into lockdown mode when a cougar is sighted nearby.

Anyone who has seen a cougar up close knows that they are very large, powerful predators. They are stealth hunters, typically jumping on their unsuspecting victims from above or the side, and killing with a single bite to the neck.

If I lived a few miles out in the country, I'd be very cautious about letting my young daughter play outside.

Thank you animal rights activists of Washington State, for making Washington a more cougar-friendly place.
