can ANYONE tell me why they can consider themselves a conservative and STILL like Bush? None of the conservatives I know agree with Bush on all his polices. That's understandable. For instance, I think his immigration policy is insane. But one also has to consider the alternatives and Al Gore and John Kerry would have been horrendously bad choices for the country. The deficit issue is way overblown considering that we have fought two wars and had to shake off a recession.....its a problem for sure and needs to be addressed....but it alone will not cause most conservatives to abandon the SS Bush when considered in the larger context of the alternatives.... I would agree with a sentiment that BOTH parties need to put forth higher quality candidates..... J.
