What makes it hard is that if you crack down too hard trying to make sure no ineligible voter (illegal alien, resident of another state, felon (in the states that don't let felons vote), person voting more than once, ect.) votes than you will keep a few eligible voters from voting, and you get attacked for disadfranchising people.

I have to say one thing I find really odd is the inconsistency that comes with felons. Why is it okay in one state for felons to vote and not okay in another? I think this should be consistent nationwide one way or the other.
