how about these base closing proposals. Everybody gets upset about the budget yet will not go along with base closing in their area. I don't agree with all of the closures. We should remember, many of the civilians in DOD who worked on this list have political agendas too. I like Rumsfeld. I believe he was the right man at the right time 4 years ago and again on 9-11. I have stood solidly behind him. But, I do not believe he is the right man to completely reorganize our Armed Forces for future wars as he is attempting to do. Nor do I believe that his vision is going to enhance our war making ability. Many of the decision making DOD and individual service undersecretaries are bozos. They are hurting morale in some key combat units and are likely to do even more damage. The only way to flush them out of the system is to change the head.
