It was an informative article. Here's a quote from it:

The Sunni insurgents could win the battle if they persevere long enough to sour U.S. voters, Feldman said.

This is exactly why people like me refuse to give in to these terrorists. We know that the one thing the terrorists have on their side is an American public that doesn't have the stomach for a long fight. You are proof of that.

Oh come on, MM, you aren't going to fall for that old gambit......if we were just manly enough, we wouldn't give up. A real man knows when he can't win and doesn't lose more lives over a lost cause. The Sunnis can go on indefinitely........like the Taliban in Afghanistan.........that's what helped brought down the Soviet Union. Is that what you want to see happen to the US? We go down because of Bush's folly!

But this President and most Republicans will tell you that we simply cannot lose Iraq. The consequences would be far greater than the cost of staying there another 5 years if need be.

Wake up, man, we are not talking 5 years. We are talking the idefinite future.

Foretunately, I believe we can still have a significant drawdown by the end of 2006. Things have steadily progressed for the Iraqi government. A little while longer and they will have a constitution and more permanent gov't in place. Then we can start to minimize our presence. But there's still a lot of work to be done.

Your optimism blinds you to the truth!
