The study randomized 569 patients to receive either gemcitabine plus concurrent Tarceva or gemcitabine plus placebo. This is where I get so angry..they are using their marketing muscle to prostitute these marginally effective drugs(especially pains me when I see it in these orphan diseases) while smaller companies with much more promising molecules/modalities have trouble accruing or getting funded.. And it's not just the doc's..nurses are hugely culpable..they are gatekeepers..just had their onc meeting right before ASCO..EVERY 'educational' session was paid for by the DNA's, MRK's. End of rant!
