If I were President, I'd work for reducing our own massive nuclear armories in conjunction with Russia. As President, while reducing our nuclear armories in conjunction with Russia, I'd demand that Israel do the same, and open itself up to inspection, jointly with the Russians. At the same time, I'd demand that Iran open up to inspection, and North Korea open up to inspection. Eventually, all nuclear countries would be expected to "build down" their nuclear inventories, and no NEW nuclear weapons would be tolerated. But WE'D have to lead the way, to have any moral authority at all. We've already made trememdous progress from the cold war era. It stopped with Bush.
If I were running Israel, I'd quit shafting the Palestinians, back off to pre-1967 borders, and begin to heal relations with the arab world. |
