In the photo you are referring to, the resolution isn't very good, and the cows are partly in the shade. You would have to have x-ray eyes to see whether the cows are covered with manure or not, really. They don't look particularly well fed to me.

Since you like that site so well, why don't you look at all the dead and dying dairy cows on this set of photos? You can enlarge them to see everything better:
