fishweed,
I don't believe all of those people were ordered to do those things- just flat don't buy it.

Professional military interrogators have spoken out and have said no professional would do these sort of things to prisoners. It's not effective, and unprofessional.

Q for you:

1. If you were encouraged to do things like this, but not ordered, would you?

2. If ordered, would you?

Since it hurt American interests in the world, was against the rules, and would eventually hurt other American POWS (since others are sure to retaliate for this) - I would have refused to do this, and reported it - if ordered. But, that's me.

Again, I don't believe most or any were ORDERED to do this. It does not make sense, makes the military looks bad, like a bunch of thugs, and I don't believe it.

You make a good point though, that people are indoctrinated to do things without questioning. I understand that, and agree.

The whole damned thing has been a disaster for the US in my opinion. Our people keep getting killed and wounded, and there is no end in sight. I cannot believe Bush got us into this, after the lesson of Vietnam.
