Sticking scissors into the crowning skull of a fully formed fetus and suctioning out it's brains.
"I see the issue as the RIGHTS of humans to have control over what is in their bodies."
Partial birth infanticide certainly qualifies as in the body that's why they don't fully deliver the child before they kill it.
You don't "like it"?
Pleeease! Show some Chicken guarding guts will you?
"Disposing of an unwanted egg"
No one is saying anything about eggs except you. You purposely and deliberately use a false term to describe a unique and distinct Human life as nothing but an egg. Why do you need to lie if your position is so strong? The fetus is not an egg. YOU LIE!
"I make a distinction between creatures who do and who do not have brain tissue and a nervous system."
Aside from being totally arbitrary you can see below that there are brain waves at approx 7 weeks. Are you against killing the fetus after this? I doubt it. The viability stats are out of date and keep getting moved further back every day.
Day 1 - conception takes place. 7 days - tiny human implants in mother’s uterus. 10 days - mother’s menses stop. 18 days - heart begins to beat. 21 days - pumps own blood through separate closed circulatory system with own blood type. 28 days - eye, ear and respiratory system begin to form. 42 days - brain waves recorded, skeleton complete, reflexes present. 7 weeks - photo of thumbsucking. 8 weeks - all body systems present. 9 weeks - squints, swallows, moves tongue, makes fist. 11 weeks - spontaneous breathing movements, has fingernails, all body systems working. 12 weeks - weighs one ounce. 16 weeks - genital organs clearly differentiated, grasps with hands, swims, kicks, turns, somersaults, (still not felt by the mother.) 18 weeks - vocal cords work – can cry. 20 weeks - has hair on head, weighs one pound, 12 inches long. 23 weeks - 15% chance of viability outside of womb if birth premature.* 24 weeks - 56% of babies survive premature birth.* 25 weeks - 79% of babies survive premature birth.* (*Source: M. Allen et. al., "The Limits of Viability." New England Journal of Medicine. 11/25/93: Vol. 329, No. 22, p. 1597.)
"Obviously--what we WILL become as our potential is realized--is not a sound basis for ascribing value to life forms."
I have to wonder why you keep using the argument that no one else mentioned if as you admit it is so unsound????
What it is? That is the question you can't bring yourself to be honest about. It's not an egg, and it's not a potential Human being; it is a tiny living Human person. You want others to be able to kill them. That's awfully big of you.
"Your arrogance will not prevent the world from turning or deter life from eating life."
Can you stay on track? That's a cheap and shallow canard that has nothing to do with the discussion.
"You accord a mindless egg the right to use the body of a fully developed human against their will."
No I don't, you lie yet again! |
