Seems to me what you have failed to recognize is that mistakes will be made in a free country, or even semi free country, when it comes to reporting news, although that begs the question of what a "mistake" is- and discounts the question of who would be able to recognize it.

I prefer mistakes in reporting, to so much "careful" reporting, that a really huge mistake (like the Iraq war) gets made- when we have a people who believe that the Iraqis were on the 9/11 planes, and that WMD were found in Iraq. Seems to me if we err, we should err on the side of disclosure- because it appears to me that the errors of non-disclosure have killed far more people.
