Email from Rory Clarke..: "...ABB ( Asea Brown Boveri ) has built a robotic cleaning and deburring cell to showcase the new process capabilities of our ice blast technology. Ice Blasting will be used as an alternative to water blasting because of its advantages of consistent reduction in burr removal off aluminum components, reduced water use, zero chemical additives and reduced contamination. This is a joint effort by Ford's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Department, ABB and Universal Ice Blast Inc. ABB will be exhibiting our ice blast system along with other systems they are showcasing, at an exhibition called "ABB Technology Days" to be held on May 19, 20 and 21st.
