I suspect and hope the notes rhetoric is over-stated. However its clear that the American cause in Afghanistan has been set back by Newsweek. It should go without saying that the American cause in Afghanistan, actively supported by the UN and NATO, is one every enlightened person should support. Even Bush-hating fanatics.

country was left to the warlords. The country has been run by warlords for thousands of years. Karzai won a national election in an election with a big turnout and has been working to strenghthen the national gov't. Hopefully the parliamentary elections planned for later this year will help - despite the anti-American propaganda spread by the MSM.
