You are very confident for someone reading news reports from a country where the news media is mostly hiding in the "green zone". I've read that "Saddam's army" does exist, that he planned for this. I don't know what to believe, but the "fog of war" dictates the ultimate skepticism. Especially with this war.
There are similarities with Vietnam, and there are differences. The end result, I'm afraid, is going to be the ultimate similarity. As in Vietnam, we will be running away with our tail between our legs, after years and years of tragic sacrifice, to no effect.
You would think we learned something. But a wave of the flag, the bull shit call to self defense, and the poor dumb SOB's are buying the same crap, and getting killed and injured for no God damn reason, and no effect. And their parents, wives, kids, friends all die a little every day.
It just makes me sick. It should make us all sick, and eventually it will. It just takes too long, last time and this time.
