Quoting from IBD article of 08/22/97: "Biomatrix's founder and CEO,
Dr. Endre Balazs, won the first patent on hyaluronan for medical use
in 1948. Today the company sells four hyaluranon products abroad besides Synvisc....." This sounds like the same product but now has
different indications. FWIW
