Here's what Reuters said he said: <"There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States," >

Note that he did NOT say "blacks would not even do" as quoted by C2 who wrote, by way of explanation of his translation of the article, which was in Spanish: <
I am taking the liberty of translating an incisive and extremely well written comment from El Universal, one of Mexico's leading newspapers, concerning Fox's recent attack of footmouthitis. Though I don't agree with all of what it says, I do hope I have done this excellent piece justice. Original follows the translation for Spanish readers:
>

Here's what I wrote: <<We are starting to understand many things about President Fox, after his inopportune and badly interpreted statements about Mexicans doing the work that "blacks would not even do.">

That's a scurrilous lie! He didn't say that. He said "even blacks would not do the work" or words to that effect. He didn't have a free-floating even, or even a free-floating only.
>

As you can see, Fox did NOT get his even in the wrong place, assuming the Reuters people know how to translate.
