I stumbled across this stock in Friday's IBD.
What impressed me was the very impressive ROE of 41.2%
(along with an interesting chart & other technical & fundamentals).

[[ I'm curious about the "other" macrovision (mediavision one).
There was a Silicon Gulch (software multimedia district in San Francisco) company by this name, I thought. A combo of Macromedia and another company. I *hope* this isn't the same one, as I worked with a few of the folks in that company, and they had some respectable & respected software.]]

As far as DVD. Yeah, DVD is hot technology. (Actually, DVD's are simply two CD's glued together, so that there are two readable CD platters on one disk -- top & bottom). But _the_ major issue in why DVD is not out there yet is a hold back because of piracy issues. These are felt to be even more significant than those in the Video cassette industry -- because taping tape results in deterioration of quality. Copying DVDs --> no deterioration; and, enough to hold a movie.

That the stock has the following (underwriting?) of H&Q is a good sign, I think.
