There was one unsubstantiated source that later came back with doubts about the story. It was irresponsible to publish the story without either collaboration, or the source being willing to go on record. What source who is criticizing his employer would go on record? Detainee after detainee has reported the same thing over and over again. We now know that many of their other accusations of abuse at Gitmo have been verified. Most of the claims made of abuse appear to be false, this despite the very real presence of the abuse. Appear to be false? How did you make that determination? A couple of years ago the claims that Gitmo was holding young kids and old men as potential sources of enemy info. was met with ridicule and derision by the administration. Later, we learned that there were in fact, kids at Gitmo....tweenies........and old men who had been farmers in Afghanistan. All of them were let free after a year and half detainment with the send off of: "oh well we made a mistake". Since then, we have learned that women were sent in to humiliate the Muslims; that things were done to demean the Muslims and their religion and to encourage them to violate the principles of their religion.....along with standard torture techniques. To think that Gitmo guards were not capable of throwing the Koran in the toilet is to play the fool! And let me add.........people are dying in Afghanistan due to US torture techniques. Men's legs were beaten so badly they would have had to been amputated if they had not died. We have become a nation of torturers........where the fuck is that freedom allowed in our Constitution? Dictators committed torture of that magnitude, not the Home of the Free and the Brave. I am so sick of you people who defend this adminstration at every turn. Its disgusting.....do you hear me......its disgusting and completely unAmerican. What have you all done with my country? I want to know. Where did the country in which I grew up disappear? I am so disgusted and in a rage, and I don't know what to do to stop it. Mr. Bush and his cronies are turning America into a pisshole and a cesspool! ted
