You must not be paying attention! I do notice however; a subtle shift in your language from "potential Human" to "potential child?".
One statement ("potential child") deals with a stage of development while the other ("potential Human") simply begs the ontological question; WHAT IS IT! For the sake of clarity it would be helpful if you picked one and stayed with it rather that evasively slipping from one to the other when you are called on it.
As to your question specifically; The scientific fact is that a Zygote (fertilized egg) is a Human being in its earliest stage of development. A child is a potential adult but still remains a Human being. I am six foot two, my wife is just over five feet tall I do not have more rights because I am bigger. Rights are derived from humanness not from developmental stage. There is no sliding scale of human rights. If you are human, you are provided equal protection under the Law.

It may be ultra clear to you but I have a question that I would appreciate a straight answer to. You seem even unable to condemn even partial birth abortion. To me that just demonstrates that your true position is not brain function at all, and is indistinguishable from TP's.

If you have a hold on my hand and are dangling over a cliff I may claim the right to remove your hand but if it results unnecessarily in your death them your right to life superseded my right to comfort. Now, if not letting go would result in my death as well then that would be a different ethical situation but as the vast majority of abortions are done for convenience alone, then it is better to error, (if at all) on the side of life.
