Mike, as DMA said, there is no common ground. The judiciary is the last chance for the Dems to impose their views, since they lost the WH and both houses of Congress, and they're desperate. I just took a look at that NYT editorial and it's a hoot. Worth a fisk, but I don't have time. Jeez, it starts out with, "Of all the hollow arguments Senate Republicans have made in their attempt to scrap the opposition's right to have a say on President Bush's judicial nominees..." Bwahaha! They've had plenty of opportunity to say their piece, and will have more - Frist will give them up to 100 hours per nominee. They don't want their say, they want their way - or as Hugh Hewitt put it, Dems don't want minority rights, they want their minority to rule.
