You know I cannot discuss the specifics of why I banned any poster. It wouldn't be fair.

I hear that you are very upset, and I am sincerely sorry for that. I don't enjoy upsetting people.

Speaking generally, though, it isn't ever point of view that causes me to ban posters. The fact that you are here is certainly testament to my not banning people based on their point of view, in fact. Goodness, most of the posters here are to the right of Attila the Hun from my vantage point of being what most of you would probably describe as flaming leftist radical vegan animal rights hippie weirdo or something close to that.

There is no guarantee of free speech at moderated threads, or at SI in general for that matter. Even at threads that are not moderated, SI's TOU kick in. Free speech is an illusion.

While I have never banned anyone for their point of view, I do ban for bad behavior, as per the Feelies TOU at the thread head. People whose behavior continues to get worse after several warnings are probably going to end up banned. Usually a gentle admonishment from me steers posters back towards a reasonable level of politeness, but sometimes it does not, and that is unfortunate because I really don't like to ban people. I am really trying to stress civil behavior even in the middle of huge disagreements, because I just won't bother to spend time here if it is not like that.
