It's momentarily heartening to see someone like Galloway putting the Bushevik's feet to the fire, but I'm just cynical enough to believe that the interest of a few talk shows and "news" programs is strictly for the entertainment or brief "shock" value more than for any truth that might be contained in those statements. These days TV after all has much less to do with truth than it has to do with the pure entertainment value of an event, it's power to stimulate certain hormones and for the resulting biological states to then be "fixed" to certain products that are being sold. So Galloway will last for a minute and then something more soothing will be promoted. Can't have people getting too worked up, can we? So the media these days play the game of "examining" events because it's entertaining to do so and that's their job, but wouldn't it be oh, so boring to actually believe in something?
