[ON topic: Lucent's New DSP Chip]

Found at EETimes Web site while surfing on a rainy (!) Sunday morning.
According to the article this chip is competition for TI's C6X, but . "That would still give the company a comfortable lead over Lucent."

BTW - I notice that the C6X has a nickname: "Velociti".

Lucent reveals details of next-generation DSP

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Lucent Technologies has disclosed the
details of its oft-discussed Sabre architecture and its first digital signal processor using it. As the communications industry gears for an explosion in digital wireless and wireline services, Lucent faces competition from Analog Devices Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc.
