Here's a guy who had the same vision as Michael Dell but could not execute his strategy.


I remember well when Gateway was easily a strong and influential as Dell. That was about 1995 or earlier. At that time Dell in Austin Texas expanded rapidly, and Gateway in North Souix City South Dakota could not find any employees to keep up with demand. Gateway fell behind in volume, and then in influence with the suppliers.
