Gore always had a legit claim in 2000. Florida was a tie for all intents and purposes and he won the popular vote. I criticized gore alot back then for not taking the road nixon took in 1960. But having said that, Gore acted like a Saint compared to the way kerry is apparently behaving. The only thing that will keep the very "gray" republicans from losing next presidential election is (a) their smugness and/or (b)the dean-kerry cabal at the dnc. Personally i think Hillary has a shot and i welcome here into the race. She has been a pretty good senator and has won the respect of her colleagues and even Newt who somehow has fallen out of favor of the smug-cons who run the show. I beleve you think Hillary cant win but if not her another moderate may arise in her place. Republicans will be seriously challenged in the 06 congressional races as well and perhaps get real close in the house. Times are changing and the iraq war is not gaining republicans votes. Mike
