Pam,

I save my photos to CD and DVD and there is no way a JPEG loses quality in this manner.

If you have a jpeg saved on your harddrive and continually open and close it then
it seems possible that some data may be lost each time the file is decompressed and
recompressed. The only "losses" I am aware of occur when the image is rotated or manipulated
in some way. I can't say that the losses are perceptible to the average human.
