Blair has essential gotten what he wanted from the BBC. They have very much toned down their criticism of Blair's mendacity. Notice that the Downing Street Memo was published in the Times, not on BBC.

There was an outrageous moment on BBC's newsnight on May 6 when the network host, Jeremy Paxton wildly accused George Galloway of being a racist. It was an absurd bit of sucking up to the Blair government.

I stand by what I said about the BBC's biased coverage of events in Iraq. For a more balanced and honest view of events in Iraq, I prefer the excellent work of Juan Cole, the Occupation Watch folks or the Riverbend and Dahl Jamail blogs.
